When you’re sitting in office, slouching on your chair, waiting for the long weekend, it’s hard to find motivation to work. It becomes even more difficult to power through when sitting on a chair all day makes you develop pain in your back, neck, and wrists.

We spoke to physiotherapist Dr Garima Myne who went around our office and showed us what we’re doing wrong, and how to correct our posture.

Watch the video to know how to get rid of the pain.

While you’re sitting at your desk at work, maintain your posture.

Sit straight with your back resting properly. Keep your head, neck, and back straight. At all times, keep your desktop or laptop screen at around 15 degrees to your eye level, and don’t tilt your head downwards or upwards too much.

Bend your elbows and keep them at right angles, and rest your arms properly while using the keyboard or mouse. Your wrists should be in a straight line with your arm to avoid hurting them.

Several studies have shown that sitting for long hours in the same place is harmful, and could lead to many lifestyle diseases.

Dr Myne says sitting and/or standing for too long is harmful. Keep switching your position and walk every 30 to 40 minutes.

Follow these steps and practice the simple exercises shown in the video to make the pain go away!
