As much we’d all love to hit the spa and unwind, we can’t do it every day. The next best thing would be to watch Netflix while nature’s best takes care of all your hair problems. Here are 4 hair masques that may take a little prep time but are great on results.

And don’t worry – I’ve kept it super doable by making sure most ingredients can be found in the kitchen or in the fridge!

1. Problem: Dryness
What to use? Super Hydrating Hair Mask

Dryness is one of the biggest reasons your hair looks frizzy or unruly at times. The best way to tackle this at home is with a nourishing hair mask.

Since this is a super hydrating mask, both honey and olive oil are added to this concoction. Whisk the ingredients really well and apply it to your strands evenly on damp hair (for an easier application). Wash out the mask in 30 minutes.

2. Problem: Hair Growth

This mask is not just good for hydration but can help aid hair growth.

Run the mix through the blender and store the concoction in a bottle. Massage it onto scalp and ends for 10-15 minutes and keep it on for a few more minutes. Use it as often as you can. (Castor oil is known to aid growth but black castor oil is considered more potent.) Aloe vera is good for many reasons: it’ll take care of any fungal infections and moisturise your mane – but is also good for hair growth. Vitamin E is great to strengthen both your hair and hair follicles.

3. Problem: Monsoon Hair
What to use? Anti-Frizz Mask

Come humidity and things get a little unruly in life – including your hair.

Make sure the banana is mashed and all the ingredients are sifted well. Use a brush and comb to apply this mask from roots to ends. Keep it on for 30-40 minutes and then rinse it off.

4. Problem: Taking Care of Coloured/Heavily Treated Hair
What to use? Deep Conditioning Mask

Most of us are addicted to the flat iron or really like our highlights – which is why our strands deserve a lot of care.

Since this combination is a powerhouse of nourishing ingredients and anti-oxidants, keep it on for anywhere between 20-50 minutes. You can also add a pinch of coffee if your hair colour is leaning towards brown and you want to add shiny hair to your list too.

PS: Hair masks only work when your diet is healthy too. Make sure you eat leafy vegetables, fruits and salad to up your ante on iron, vitamins and protein.
