FB Live: ‘Striptease’ - Stripping Away the Gender Bias
The experimental theatre performance aims to stimulate, provoke and entertain.
Striptease-The Gender Dialogues is brought to life by three very moving performers: Lopamudra Mohanty, Abhishikta Das & Dolly Bose. The experimental theatre performances are written and directed by Zubin Driver.
Striptease is all about monologues that explore sexual freedom, patriarchy, reframing contemporary feminism and much more. The performance in Mumbai saw some very provocative and edgy performances that tried to break the barriers created for women.
After some splendid performances (a bit of which can be seen in the above video), women who were invited to this special screening spoke about their own experiences, sexual and otherwise, and a wide range of topics that also included parenting. Though experimental theatre cannot directly claim to engineer social change, it hopes to spark constructive debates and challenge claustrophobic social bias. Watch the video to find out more.
