‘I Feel Like Crying for No Reason’: Alia Bhatt on Anxiety Bouts
Alia Bhatt, undoubtedly one of the most talented artists in the film industry today, has had back-to-back successes in the past few years. Being at the peak of her career, the actor reveals she has been struggling with bouts of anxiety since the last five to six months, in an interview to Filmfare.
Talking about the importance of taking care of your mental health, she says:
Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt has written a book on fighting depression, raising awareness about mental health.
Alia says that it’s important to accept that you’re not feeling okay and not say that you’re fine when you’re not.
No matter how bad it is, I just let myself feel it. Sometimes, I feel like crying for no reason. Then it passes. Initially, I’d be a little confused. I’d constantly give reasons that it’s because of work or maybe I’m tired or haven’t been able to meet anyone... What’s important is to accept it and not say that you’re fine. If you’re not feeling fine, then you should just say you’re not feeling fine.Alia Bhatt to Filmfare
“I spoke to friends about it. I spoke to Ayan about it, I spoke to my sister’s friend Rohan (Joshi). Everyone told me that you’ve got to realise that it will go away,” the magazine quotes her saying.
Meanwhile, she’s on a spree winning awards for her performance in Raazi last year, her latest release Gully Boy has been a smashing hit and she’s ready for her next release Kalank.
