Keeping your skin young and fresh has never been easier. The cosmetic market and dermatologists have a range of facial treatments to offer - chemical peels, laser therapy, microdermabrasion and organic masks among many others.

In this extensive list, the latest addition has come as a surprise to many. Celebrities like Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett swear by this treatment. Kate Beckinsale, just a week ago, took to Instagram to praise it.

What is it?

The treatment, performed by celebrity facialist Georgia Louise Atelier uses Epidermal growth factor (EGF) serum. In simpler words, the serum is derived out of the foreskin of Korean babies during circumcision, explaining why Bullock likes to call it the ‘penis facial’.

Speaking about it on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Bullock explained that through a microneedling technique, the facial boosts collagen by enabling serums, including an epidermal growth factor (or EGF) serum to seep deeper into the skin, post which one might end up looking like a ‘burned victim for a day’. The serum, she tells DeGeneres, is “an extraction from a piece of skin that came from a young person far, far away.”

In conversation with PeopleStyle, Louise explained,

It started last year when Sandra Bullock was filming in NYC and came to see me for a deep cleansing and long-lasting facial glow. I wanted to give her something that would transform her skin without the need to undergo lasers, so I loaded up her bespoke facial with something that would give her long-lasting results. Within weeks her make-up artist, Whitney, and cast mates wanted to know the cause of her amazing, glowing skin … and from that moment onwards the Hollywood EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) Facial was born!

Kate Beckinsale was recently added to the list of celebrities who trust this unique treatment, when she posted a picture with the caption, “After a long flight I do like to lie down and be covered in a mask of liquified cloned foreskins-frankly who doesn’t?”

While she removed it from her handle, Louise reposted the image.

Louise also added that to derive the EGM, cells from the newborn baby’s foreskin are taken and cloned in a laboratory.

The 650 US dollar treatment is also FDA approved.
