Over the last year few years, Prince William has been championing the cause of mental health, and his new film ‘A Royal Team Talk: Tackling Mental Health' brings together football legends to normalise men talking about mental well-being.

Men are the hardest-to-reach audience on the subject of mental health. Suicide is the biggest killer of young men under the age of 45, and that’s an appalling statistic.

He added, “There needs to be a turning point where we can pass the message onto men everywhere that it's okay to talk about mental health. We have to normalise the whole conversation,” reported the Daily Mail.

On Sunday, 19 May, BBC One will air the sport documentary which features football heroes like Thierry Henry, Peter Crouch, Jermaine Jenas and more.

By bringing together popular personalities to open up about their struggles, the royal hopes to encourage conversations around the almost taboo subject.

According to the Daily Mail, the players touched upon a variety of topics, from depression to racism, and the toll it took on their person and career.

My biggest hope for this is that a conversation will be had. The rate of male suicide has gone through the roof, so it’s great that we’re having this chat.
